Whilst we don’t get too many stories like this, we were so pleased by this one we decided to share it!
We were recently emailed by “James” (real username removed for privacy reasons, so for the purposes of this we are going to call him James for the rest of this article). James wanted to thank us for providing such an “effective” service (as he liked to put it). He told us he was leaving the website and deleting his profile, but wanted to make it clear that he was doing so for the *best* of reasons. He was leaving it because the service had been excellent, so good in fact that it had ended up taking him down a completely unexpected path!
James joined the website just over a year ago. Like many people who are new to online dating sites, whilst it only took him only a few moments to get an active profile together, it took him a few months to get up to courage to meet up face to face with one of the girls that he had started to chat with online. That first meeting began a chain reaction that changed the course of his year, and potentially his entire life!
He met up with the girl, and after a nervous introduction and some small talk, they moved to a second pub where a second drink helped him to relax into the situation. Once that happened he became more open to the needs and desire of the woman he was with, and suddenly a revelation dawned on him. All this time he had been under the false impression that deep down inside, men wanted loads of sex and that it was their “job” to convince, pursued, trick or cajole women into having it with them. Faced with the openness of this woman, he suddenly realised that in fact she wanted to sleep with him even more than he wanted to sleep with her.
Putting small talk aside and deciding to discard the falsly pressured assumption that one must spend a certain amount of time with someone before being able to make a move, James stepped up and asked her to come back to his. She almost seemed relieved by the invitation, it seemed she was worried that he didn’t like her enough to ask! They quickly finished their drinks, headed back to his and he lead her straight to his bedroom.
Having had such an amazing night, he set up a friends with benefits agreement with her, then over the year went on to boldly sleep with a number of woman, each of whom expanded his horizons of what could be done in the bedroom for fun. Throughout this that first girl he met never left his mind... till one day he realised that he had formed a bond over the year, and that he wanted to marry her!
He proposed last week, and after a tearful yes, they are now looking to tie the knot. We will be sad to see James go, but we wish him all the best for the future.
